Aesthetics and Nail Technician | Testing & Licensing Update – State of Virginia
January 16, 2017: Please note, the State of Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation has selected Professional Credential Services for aesthetics and nail technician testing and licensing.
An announcement on the Professional Credential Services web site provides helpful information to Dermal Science International Aesthetics & Nails Academy students pursuing education in Basic Esthetics, Master Esthetics, Instructor Training and Nail Technician Training.
The Professional Credential Services web site notes:
- “If you applied and tested less than one (1) year ago, you will be able to register for and take your examination. Apply using instructions on our (the PCS) website.
- Please note you will need to complete the online application and upload your photo again prior to approval to test.
- Your other application documents (training forms, criminal histories, etc.) will be added to your account when they are received from the previous vender, sometime in early February. You will be able to schedule and take your exams whether or not these documents have been added to your account.
- Candidates who took their first exam after December 7, 2016 may have to wait until February to schedule their next exam. If you are affected by this, please contact the Board at (804) 367-8590 and ask for Tamika Rodriguez or Stephen Kirschner.”
